Pardus – Another Operating System for Linux family [FOSS]
When you pronounce the name “Pardus“, you might be thinking what’s the meaning of it & why do they choose such names. Well, there’s nothing wrong with the name as I see, since Pardus is a Linux based Operating system developed by a Turkish (Turkey) crew. Pardus means “Tiger” in Turkish language. One of the best operating system ever a user can find in the linux industry.
Pardus was started and is developed by Turkish National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (UEKAE), which is under the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Also, Pardus used to be based on Gentoo Linux. This Operating system has been designed upon the Turkish governments approval. Even-though, it’s designed for the government, still users are also able to use it as a free open-source software. Pardus has released their new upgraded system to the world publicly on July 21th 2011. It was named as “Pardus 2011.1 Dama Dama” which is available for both 32bit and 64bit versions. As you can see below, is a print shot of the latest “Dama Dama” OS from Pardus.
This amazing operating system has been designed using the latest “Linux Kernal 2.6.37.6” as they inherited the Gentoo Linux concept. Therefore, it has the “KDE SC 4.6.5” contains numerous backports and fixes which will improve the stability of your desktop experience significantly.
When a user compares all Linux Distros with Pardus, the fastest & also the smallest (in size) OS ever in the list. Easy Installation with user-friendly GUI (graphical user interface), Frequenlty use applications (such as Libre Office 3.4.1.3, GIMP 2.5.11, FireFox) … etc are available with this.

Geek Opinion: Another amazing linux operating system which is really worth giving a try. An operating system made upon a government request which means user will have more security to defend them selves. Enjoy another FOSS service.
